「Sniper Elite 5」は、Rebellionが開発し数々の賞を受賞してきた「Sniper Elite」シリーズのサードパーソン・シューティングゲーム。プレイヤーは1944年のフランスを舞台に、狙撃兵のカール・フェアバーンとなって、ナチスの極秘プロジェクト「クラーケン作戦」を阻止すべく、戦いを繰り広げていく。
また、他のプレイヤーが枢軸軍のスナイパーとして侵入してくる新たな「マルチプレイ「侵入モード」の追加により、常に緊迫感が漂うゲームプレイを体験できる。なお、「侵入モード」は好みに応じてオフにすることも可能だ。
