KONAMIは、iOS/Android用アプリ「ワールドサッカーコレクションS」において、2016-17最新データのレアリティカードの追加を含むアップデートを実施した。
今回のアップデートにより、2016-17最新データのレアリティカード、チャンピオンズリーグスター（以下、CLS）が登場した。
世界最高レベルのスター選手を多数抱える名門「FC バルセロナ」に所属するメッシ選手やスアレス選手、「アーセナルFC」に所属するエジル選手、サンチェス選手、「ボルシア ドルトムント」に所属するオーバメヤン選手、香川選手など多数のビッグクラブの新カードが追加。さらに、2016-17最新データのCLSはSランクスペシャルスキルが大幅に追加されている。
さらに、年末年始の長期休暇にあわせて報酬が豪華になった強化キャンプ「年末年始合宿！ワサコレ強化キャンプ」が開催。好きな選手カードを強化するチャンスだ。
