ウィザーズ・オブ・ザ・コーストは、TCG「マジック：ザ・ギャザリング」を題材にしたiOS/Android用アプリ「マジック・デュエルズ・オリジン」を、App Storeにて配信した。
「マジック・デュエルズ・オリジン」では、ギデオン、ジェイス、リリアナ、チャンドラ、ニッサの5人を主人公に、彼らが何故プレインズウォーカー(多元宇宙の次元を渡り歩く能力を備えた魔導士)になったのかという生い立ちの物語が描かれる。
また、本作はTCG「マジック：ザ・ギャザリング」を知らない人でも手軽に楽しめるよう設計されており、カードでデッキ構築、技術を磨き、友人やAIと戦うことはもちろん、定期更新されるカード、コンテンツ、実績、多人数戦、新スキルクエストと、さまざまな楽しみが用意される。
なお、本日iPhone(5s以降)、iPad(Air以降)、iPad Mini(2以降)に向けた先行配信が行われたが、Xbox One/PC(Steamで提供)についても近日中にサービスを開始していくとしている。

そのほか、“マジック未体験”のユーザーに向け、声優・優木かなさん＆ふみいちさんがニコニコゲーム実況チャンネルにて、7月19日より全7回構成で「マジック・デュエルズ・オリジン」の番組が配信される。番組中ではチュートリアルからはじめ、オンライン対戦などが行われる予定だ。
